21. Herman⁴ Burgener Jr. (Herman³, Christian², Ulrich¹) was born in Burgdorf, Switzerland June 28, 1904. Herman died July 6, 1992 in Merrill, WI, at 88 years of age. His body was interred July 10, 1992 in Merrill, WI, Luther Memorial Lutheran Cemeter.

He married Violet Rose Vanderford in Elgin, IL, June 28, 1930. Violet was born in Melrose Park, Cook County, IL August 25, 1908. Violet was the daughter of William Austin Vanderford and Rose Ernestine Miller. Violet died September 2, 1980 in Merrill, WI, at 72 years of age. Her body was interred September 7, 1980 in Merrill, WI, Luther Memorial Lutheran Cemeter. Herman's family came to the United States in 1910, settling in Two Buttes, CO. They moved to Merrill, WI in 1913 and then to a farm in Schley, WI in the spring of 1914. Herman married Violet Rose Vanderford on June 28, 1980 after meeting her when he was working in the Chicago area. Herman and Violet farmed in the town of Schley until 1966. Herman also did carpentry work in his early years for a resort in the Minocqua, WI area. Herman cut and hauled pulp wood, and was on the board of directors for the Associated Co-op Services in Merrill, WI, and the Antigo Milk Products Corp. From 1940-1955 he managed the Lincoln County Livestock Shipping Association. He served as an insurance adjustor and served on the board of directors of the Wausau Mutual Insurance Company from 1954 until he retired in 1984. He served as president of that company from 1965 until 1971. Herman served on the church council of St. Stephens United Church of Christ and was a member of the church choir for 30 years.

Herman Burgener Jr. and Violet Rose Vanderford had the following children:

27 ii. Shirley Ileen Burgener was born in Schley, Wisconsin December 16, 1933. She married Richard Robert Kuehn in Merrill, WI, June 5, 1954. Richard was born in Merrill, WI December 6, 1928. 28 iii. Betty Lurae Burgener was born in Township of Schley, Lincoln County, WI June 22, 1935. She married twice. She married Ben Davis July 1956. Ben was born March 5, 1933. Ben was divorced from Betty Lurae Burgener 1968. (See Ben Davis for the continuation of this line.) She married Mathew Joseph Loeffler in Milwaukee, WI, May 3, 1969. Mathew was born in Milwaukee, WI April 22, 1941. Mathew was the son of Rupert Loeffler and Gertrud Barron. Mathew died May 18, 2006 in Ponca City, OK, at 65 years of age. His body was interred May 23, 2006 in Ponca City, OK, Resthaven Memorial Park. (See Mathew Joseph Loeffler for the continuation of this line.)

Betty was divorced from Ben Davis 1968. Betty divorced Ben Davis.

29 iv. Constance Kathleen Burgener was born in Township of Schley, Lincoln County, WI April 24, 1937. She married twice. She married Ronald Fox Beyer January 21, 1956. Ronald was born June 6, 1936. (See Ronald Fox Beyer for the continuation of this line.) She married LeRoy Fischer September 14, 1990. Connie and Ronald Beyer divorced in November 1981.

32 vii. Mary Ann Burgener was born in Merrill, WI August 25, 1948. She married twice. She married David Bruce Vandre October 21, 1967. David was born January 14, 1944.
