He married Clara Vanderford in Marshaltown, Iowa, September 15, 1896. Clara was born August 23, 1877. Clara was the daughter of John Austin Vanderford and Samantha Wilmina (Mattie) Bruner. Clara died December 2, 1931 in Iowa, at 54 years of age.

Hardin Conrad and Clara Vanderford had the following children:
