1. Lars (Louis)1 Gilbertson birth date unknown.

He married Mattie Benson. Mattie was the daughter of Bernt Benson and Karen Evenson.

Lars (Louis) Gilbertson and Mattie Benson had the following children:

child 2 i. Gilbert H.2 Gilbertson.

child + 3 ii. Anton L. Gilbertson.

child 4 iii. Jennie Gilbertson. She married Charles Kellner.

child 5 iv. Clara Gilbertson was born in Wisconsin December 7, 1871. Clara died December 24, 1943 in Adams, WI, at 72 years of age. Her body was interred December 27, 1943 in Black River Falls, WI, Little Norway Lutheran Church. She married Andrew Odeen. (See Andrew Odeen for the continuation of this line.)

child 6 v. Loren Gilbertson was born in Irving, WI March 15, 1879. Loren died August 9, 1939 in Whitehall Hospital, WI, at 60 years of age.

child 7 vi. Louise Marie Gilbertson was born in Irving, Wisconsin March 2, 1889. Louise died April 14, 1963 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, at 74 years of age. Her body was interred Aprin 16, 1963 in Black River Falls, WI, Little Norway Lutheran Church. She married Ludwig Martin Engebretson in Winona, Minnesota, February 6, 1910. Ludwig was born in Albion, WI February 4, 1889. Ludwig was the son of Christian Engebretson and Sophia Wold. Ludwig died December 27, 1949 in Black River Falls, WI, at 60 years of age. His body was interred December 31, 1949 in Black River Falls, WI, Little Norway Church Cemetery. (See Ludwig Martin Engebretson for the continuation of this line.) Information obtained from Louise Marie Engebretson obituary...Louise Marie Engebretson was born March 2, 1889 in the Town of Irving (WI) to Lars and Mattie (Benson) Engebretson. Her entire life was spent in the Irving area where she was a lifelong member of the Little Norway Lutheran congregation and its Ladies Aid. She and her husband, Ludwig, engaged in farming. She entered the Krohn Hospital April 4th; but had been in failing health for 2 years with a heart condition. Her passing was due to a stroke, which occured early Sunday morning, April 14, 1963. She was interned in the chruch cemetery.

She and Ludwig had 8 daughters: Clarice (Mrs. Roy Meyers - Woodstock, IL), Muriel (Mrs. Warren Lyons - Black River Falls, WI), Lillian (Mrs. Wilmer Reimer - Elgin, IL), Edna (Mrs. Clarence Johnson - Crystal Lake, IL), Janice (Mrs. Earl Freund - Woodstock, IL), Marian (Mrs. Harold Thurow - Woodstock, IL), Avis (Mrs. Eldon Jensen - Hazelton, ND) and Verna Mae who died in in fancy.

Her greatest interest in life was in the achievement and progress of her daughters and with their business professions and homes. During her life she was a marvelous cook and noted for baking all Norweigian delicacies.
